Poker Face.........

After playing poker for more than a year, Jr and I finally went to take part in a tournament organized by Poker Kaki and Leisure World. We thought it would be fun to go gain some experience and learn from other players. I don't know about the rest, but i did learn a lot during this trip.

When to call, when not to. When to raise and when not to call any raise. How to play like a pro and not like a donk or fish. =P No, i did not make it to the final non won any prize but i am happy for my friends who does. One of them made it to the final table, securing the fifth position winning $1200+. We also took part in (re-buy) and (sit-and-go) events, i only managed to stand on till the 4th position. =(
However, Jr managed to beat me to it and got 3rd position winning $180. Thomas and Andrew took the 2nd and 1st respectively.

It is really nice and encouraging when you have strangers coming up to you and compliment you on your good play. This won't make me feel proud but give me the motivation to play even better! I am really happy that i have a couple of good play in this tournament, however i do have a couple of bad play too. Well, i definitely learn through my mistakes and would avoid repeating them in the future.

Looking forward to attend more tournaments in future!!

Day 1 :

Main Event
Only girl in the table =P

Playing with my chips when i am not involved in any hand

This is the hand that took down a big pot

"Nice Hand"
2 meaning:
First is for taking down a big pot with my hand.
Second is my own hands with nice nails.. Haha

Watching Andrew in his final 2 during the first Sit-and-go event
He got 1st !!! =)

Partying after the first day event.... Free beer and food !! woohooo

Day 2:
Re-buy Tournament

Sneaking a peek at my opponent's stack

Jr came in 3rd in his Sit-and-go table and 12th in the re-buy tournament =)

My brother, Eddie came in 2nd in his sit-and-go table and 11th in the re-buy tournament

I will definitely make it to the final table in my next game or at least secure a top 3 in those sit-and-go events la!! =D

10.10.10 ....

was our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!!

I was complaining to my hubby that he did not plan any special programs for all our special occasions this year.

1) Our Valentine Day was burned due to Chinese New Year.
2) My Birthday was burned as we went for our wedding photo-shoot.
3) Our 9th year anniversary was spent drinking with a group of friends instead of going for a date.
4) Our 2nd wedding anniversary was spent at Beauty World eating Mala Noodles followed by poker-ing (Luckily we both won!!!)

He is lucky that he woke me up with a lovely bouquet of flowers from him yesterday if not i am so gonna kill him!!! Well, i am kidding here, what can i do if he really did not do anything. Oh well, what can you expect from a guy that you have been with for 9 years plus? He will complain that he has ran out of ideas already la or keep bringing me to the same old places.

Nevertheless, he never fail to make me happy on all these occasions cos i will always tell him this "今天我最大" and he always make me feel like a princess. Hahahaha.....

Happy Anniversary dear!! Lub u Deep Deep !! Hehee =D

The lovely flowers

My problematic dog...

My poor bebe is diagnosed with Pseudopregnancy aka false pregnancy. I was carrying her one day and was stroking her stomach when i realized something strange. Her breasts and nipples seem swollen and there seems to be some white discharge at the tip of her nipples, i gently squeeze it and some white n milky substances spurt out. =.="

I thought she kanna some breast cancer so i quickly brought her to the vet and she told me that that is milk and not discharge. Apart from producing milk, she will feel moody, loses her appetite and will start building nest and protecting her babies. In this case, where there is no real babies, she will look upon her toys as her babies. LOL

After what the vet told us, what ever happened earlier over the past few days make sense. She refuses to eat and is always moody. Especially on the day of my wedding, we all thought we is terrified by the crowd or i am leaving her behind home alone for the first time.

After my parents and siblings returned home after the wedding dinner, they found the 2 Mickey and Minnie soft toys which is supposed to be on the table on the floor. Bebe is seen hugging the Minnie tightly and the Mickey is found behind the sofa, and when my brother went to pick it up, bebe charged over and even wanted to bite him. They were stunned by her strange behavior and thought she is throwing a tantrum cos we neglected her for the whole day.

The next day when i brought her home, instead of her routine behavior she ran up to the bedroom and into her bed immediately. I followed behind and observed her, she went into her kennel-bed and picked up one of her toy, put it down and used her paw to stroke it and whined at the same time. I was shocked cos this is the first time i saw her behaving like this. I even shout out to my hubby saying Bebe miss her toy so much that she is crying upon seeing it. We even had a good laugh because of her actions.

Everything make sense after the vet explanation, she thought the Mickey, Minnie and the toys at home are her babies. She carry them every where she goes and hug them to sleep. It is really funny to see her acting so motherly lor. On the other hand, she is so poor thing when we gotta milk her so that she would not have swollen breasts. =(

Hope she will get over this phase soon. I want a healthy Bebe....

Happy Day.......

Today is a very very happy day for me.........

Opened my letterbox after a least 2 weeks to find chunk of letters and bills in it. So happy to see that the claim for my hospitalization bill was approved by Prudential and Medisave ,so after all the claims i only got to pay $5.51 =D

As i opened the remaining bills from SP services, Starhub and statements from banks, i chose to shove aside the letter from SIM believing it to be an invoice for the semester that i gotta repeat for one stupid module. I finally reached out for it reluctantly after all others have been opened and read. In it i found a letter which wrote:

Dear Student

We refer to the recent release of the overall performance in the final semester.

On behalf of RMIT and SIM, we would like to congratulate you on your successful completion of the B Bus (Mgt) programme. You may use either one of the following designatory titles in your business cards:...............................

I was extremely puzzled when i read till this part, why did they send me this letter when i did fail a module and have even went for the re-enrolment on the 17th June. I then checked for the date that this letter was dated....... It wrote "15th June 2010" Ok, now more blur... Did the school made a mistake and mail me this letter or what? I decided to call the school and i heard the most happy thing that i never thought i would have heard.

me: "hi, i received a letter to congratulate on my completion of studies whereas i actually failed one unit will be repeating it this coming semester"

Coordinator: "but your name is in our list for students graduating in Aug"

me: "i thought i failed one module and have got to repeat it?"

Coordinator: "yah, but you were granted a compensatory pass for it already, please check your email for more details"

me: *stunned for words* "huh?? i thought my appeal wasn't approved and i have even went for the re-enrolment session."

Coordinator: "it couldn't be wrong cos a number of students were granted and your name is in this list, unless you wish to opt out of it and re-take the module again

Me: *duh* "of course not!!! I am really glad that i can graduate! But please help me to double check again so that i can have a peace of mind.
"

So super happy !!!!! i was still being upset a few days ago when my mother-in-law asked about my results, i embarrassingly told them that i still got to re-take one more unit. Now i can happily go take my graduation photos together with hubby and family of graduates!!! =P

Something random, one 'weird' poly mate of mine which i wasn't close to at all sent me a sms this morning. It read : "Hello its my birthday today so do u ve any wishes for me? Thks" =___=" Really began to wonder how weird can someone gets.

Other than this weirdo, one of my sec sch buddy Albert also celebrated his bday today. Thankfully being born on the same day as the weird guy doesn't make him a weirdo too. Haha!!

Happy Birthday Mr Chia !!! =)

Disapponted...

Gotta waste another half a year all because i screwed up 1 of my paper.... Have to spend at least $1k n waste another 5 months... Arghhhhhh!!! I hate myself for being too lazy and not studying hard enough. =(

No other choice now except to work extremely hard and manage my time well because i have gotta prepare for my upcoming wedding. Hope there won't be any clash in the dates! *praying very hard*

Speaking of my upcoming big day... i was still slacking around these days until someone (my wedding planner from the hotel) dropped me an email to remind me of the food tasting and to choose our wedding invites designs. We have got to go down and discuss on the table arrangement and themes soon, and up to date i have not even finalize the total number of tables i have. Suddenly feeling all excited!! n i am glad i am excited once again cos this feeling have somehow died off for awhile after i confirmed the hotel. Hahaaa... =)

Will be doing my studio and outdoor photoshoot in another 3 weeks time, and i hope the bruises from my surgery will go off by then. It really look horrible now and i am beginning to worry that i would look so ugly then. =(

As for now i need to do a few thing....

1) Finalized the guests list
2) Arrange for food tasting
3) Decide on the designs of the invites
4) Come up with a theme
5) Decide where to take my outdoor shoot
6) Help my sisters to 'chop' nice bridesmaids dresses before they are taken up
7) Pamper & beautify myself so i will be in my tip-top form on my big day.. muahahhaah

Hong Kong Trip....

Back home after a 6days 5nights trip to Hong Kong... Miss the cool weather cos Singapore is so hot and humid. I guess i have gained some weight due to the non stop eating these few days =)

Day 1:

Due to some stupid mistakes i made half a year ago while making the booking, we wasted our first day cos we only reached HK at 9pm. By the time we checked in, we head out to for our very late dinner then went back to the hotel to sleep cos it is already too late to shop around by then.

While waiting to check in our baggage

Metropark Hotel - 1 min walk from 太子MTR station

Day 2:

Day tour to various tourist attractions....

One of the famous Harbor in HK

Taking the cable car ride up to Ngong Ping 360

All the architecture displayed a strong China style, a very beautiful place with breath taking view =)

The super enormous Buddha statue sitting at the top of this super duper long flight of stairs, we didn't attempt to climb up cos the 3 elderly claimed that they wouldn't be able to take it =X

Went to their 女人街 for some shopping and went back empty handed cos we didn't had enough time to shop as it was already quite late when we reached. =(

Day 3:

We went to another of their attraction - Ocean Park

Had our lunch at this cafe overseeing the very very beautiful view. Love the atmosphere but not the food and the price. That meal cost us SGD$ 120 =(

Visited their 'underwater world' and is amazed at how interesting it is, never know that there are actually so many kind of different fishes in there.

The highlight of the visit to the Ocean Park is the dolphins show at the Ocean Theater, i felt like a kid once again. All excited when i saw the dolphins in their corners getting ready for performance. =P The show is awesome, but i had mixed feelings while watching them doing their stunts. I am happy and excited cos they are superb and very cute, on the other hand i am sad when i guess that they must have been starve so badly and will only be fed after each performance.

The scary rides

Was already feeling quite tired after the show cos of all the walking, the 3 elderly looked shagged too so we head to a 茶粲厅 for some drinks while hubby went to take some scary rides.Feeling bored while waiting for them, began cam whoring and trying out the camera different functions =P

Below are some random shots....

Exhausted Grandpa

After dinner, we went back to 女人街 again hoping to buy something cos up till the 3rd day we haven't bought a single items lor. Not much 收获cos it started to drizzle soon after we reached and most of the stalls start packing up. Sianzzzz....

Day 4:

Macau ... Alighted at Tsim Sha Tsui Station which is nearest to the ferry terminal, was delighted to find many shops selling branded bags. Quickly hop in to a few to check it out, was tempted to get something but at the same time was worried that they might not be authentic.

Checking for direction to the terminal

Off to Macau... was shocked to learn that all the shops there closed at 5pm. It was almost like a dead town by 6pm except for their casinos. There are 33 of them there lor, n as we gotta rush for the last ferry by 10.30pm we only spent 3 hrs in one of the casino. We went to Sands which happened to be the nearest one to the ferry terminal. Not a good experience cos we 'donated' money to the casino.. hahaaa...

Not very fluent with Cantonese can get us into trouble (Almost!!). I asked for direction: "Zhou Meh Che hui China Ferry Terminal (name of the ferry terminal)?" Guessed the auntie only heard "CHINA" and pointed bus lane 3. Luckily i double check with the driver and realized that bus is heading to China and not to the ferry terminal lor!! Heng !!! else i dunno how are we gonna get back to MongKok from there.

Day 5:

Random shopping at some malls and visit to Madam Tussaud's Museum, was so happy and excited to see my idol (Aaron Kwok) =D

Love him =)

Andy Lau =)

My grandpa with Mr Lee Kuan Yew

I look like a dwarf beside Yao Ming

The lady beside James Bond.. =P

View from the peak

Was reluctant to go to Temple Street for some shopping as we are afraid that we might be disappointed again. However, we were so wrong... We all love it so much, gotten most of our stuff from the stalls there. =) Love the foot massage there too, superb skills and i enjoyed watching the HK drama while massaging. The newly aired 谈情说案!! gonna go JB and get it soon.. hahhaa

Day 6:

Went to a 麻将馆near our hotel to pass time as we were all too tired to walk around anymore! It is really interesting to find so many of this kind of shops in Hong Kong, people would go in there and play with different people. We got a private room and soon enough we head to the airport and Home sweet home! =)

Overall, it was a very fun trip but as all expenses were on hubby and i, we spent quite a bomb excluding my losing in the casino. Total damage is enough for hubby and i to pay for our Europe tickets. =( Gotta chew on bread for sometime liao.. hahaa =X

Some random stuff to share... When we were checking out, my grandma told me something scary. She claimed that she wore the hotel slippers and remembered putting them beside her bed before she went to sleep. But when she was awake she couldn't find one side of the slippers, my grandparents searched the whole room for it and it was no where to be found. We have no idea where the slipper disappear and she is glad that it only happened during our last night there. =X
